AI-CREM 2026 explores the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in creative multimedia, bringing together researchers, academics, creative professionals, practitioners, and students to examine how AI is reshaping creative practices.
The symposium aims to bridge research and practice by connecting theoretical perspectives with real-world creative applications in the evolving digital ecosystem. It provides a platform for meaningful dialogue on the future of creativity, multimedia, and human-AI collaboration.

NexSymp 2026
The Organising Committee of NexSymp 2026 understands that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally prevent registered participants from attending the conference. Refund requests will therefore be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the terms outlined below.
NexSymp 2026 will be conducted virtually on 29th and 30th September 2026.
1. Exceptional Circumstances
Registration fees for NexSymp 2026 are generally non-refundable. However, refund requests may be considered under exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Serious medical emergencies, supported by an official medical certificate;
- Immediate family bereavement;
- Significant unforeseen events beyond the participant's control; or
- Other circumstances deemed reasonable by the Organising Committee.
Submission of a refund request does not guarantee approval.
2. Supporting Documentation
All refund requests must be accompanied by appropriate supporting documentation, where applicable.
Examples include:
- Medical certificate issued by a registered healthcare practitioner;
- Death certificate or obituary notice;
- Police report or official documentation relating to the unforeseen event; or
- Other relevant supporting evidence.
Incomplete requests or requests without sufficient supporting documentation may not be considered.
3. Refund Request Procedure
Participants seeking a refund must:
- Prepare a written explanation outlining the reason for the refund request.
- Attach all relevant supporting documentation.
- Submit the request via email to mmupress@mmu.edu.my.

4. Review and Decision Process
Upon receipt of a refund request, the NexSymp 2026 Organising Committee will:
- Acknowledge receipt within five (5) business days;
- Review the request and supporting documentation; and
- Communicate the final decision via email within fifteen (15) business days from the date of acknowledgement.
All decisions made by the Organising Committee shall be final.
5. Refund Request Deadline
Refund requests must be submitted no later than seven (7) calendar days before the conference date.
Requests received after this deadline may not be considered, except in cases involving serious medical emergencies or other exceptional circumstances supported by appropriate documentation.
6. Refund Amount
Where a refund is approved, the refund amount may be determined based on the circumstances of the request and any administrative, processing, or operational costs already incurred by the Organising Committee.
An approved refund may be granted as either:
- Full refund; or
- Partial refund.
The final refund amount will be determined by the Organising Committee.
7. Administrative and Processing Charges
Approved refunds may be subject to deductions for:
- Payment gateway charges;
- Banking transaction fees;
- Currency conversion charges, if applicable;
- Administrative and processing costs; and
- Other non-refundable transaction or operational costs.
Such charges are non-refundable.
8. No-Show Policy
Participants who fail to attend the virtual conference without prior written notification shall generally not be eligible for a refund.
Failure to attend the conference or failure to access the online conference platform due to the participant's own device, internet connection, or network environment shall not, by itself, constitute grounds for a refund.
9. Transfer of Registration
Transfer of registration to another participant may be considered upon written request and subject to approval by the Organising Committee.
Requests for registration transfer should be submitted at least seven (7) calendar days before the conference date.
Additional administrative requirements or charges may apply.
10. Force Majeure
Should NexSymp 2026 be postponed, rescheduled, converted to another format, or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Organising Committee, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters;
- Government directives or restrictions;
- Public health emergencies;
- Acts of terrorism;
- Civil unrest;
- Technical or infrastructure failures;
- Major disruptions to internet or telecommunications services; or
- Other force majeure events,
the Organising Committee reserves the right to amend the conference format, dates, programme, or arrangements as necessary.
Any applicable refund, transfer, or alternative arrangements will be communicated to registered participants in due course.
11. Refund Processing
For approved refund requests, refunds will generally be processed within thirty (30) business days from the date of approval, subject to applicable payment gateway, banking, and administrative processing timelines.
Refunds will generally be issued to the original method of payment used during registration.
For payments made in currencies other than Malaysian Ringgit, the final amount received by the participant may vary due to applicable exchange rates, currency conversion charges, or banking fees.
