Prof. Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Rasat Muhamad
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Rasat hails from the prestigious Universiti Malaya, the oldest higher education institution in Malaysia. He is a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), at UM. He graduated with a Doctorate Degree in 1981 from University of Durham, England in the area of semiconductor technology and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in 1977 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In addition, he has attended a course on Global Leadership Development Program at ICLIF, Kuala Lumpur and Harvard University. He has the honour of being elected the Fellow of the Academy of Science Malaysia and Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Physics. He was awarded the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship at Cambridge University in 1987 and the Asian Development Bank Fellowship at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1993.
He has also edited several prominent science journals, such as the Malaysian Journal of Science, Malaysian Journal of Physics, Journal of Solid State Science and Technology Letters, and INTI Journal. To date, he has published over 150 articles, journals and academic papers and has supervised over 30 PhD and Masters’ candidates. He also holds prestigious membership in several science based organizations.
Noor Lela Baba
Noor Lela Baba CA(M), CMA (Aust) is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant of Australia. Having had 26 years experience as an Accountant in various organizations, she joined Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) in 1996 serving various management positions mainly in Finance Division of such as Property Development, Property Operation & its subsidiary, Telekom Sales & Services Sdn Bhd (TSSSB). In 2003, she joined the Enterprise Sales Division, heading the Europe America/Asia Japan (Key Accounts) sector. She was then sent to the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) in November 2007 as TM’s representative.
She is currently assigned by TM to serve Multimedia University as the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President Finance from November 2009. She is also appointed as the board member of three companies within the group of Universiti Telekom Sdn Bhd (commercially known as Multimedia University) i.e. Unitele Multimedia Sdn Bhd (commercially known as MMU Cynergy), Multimedia College Sdn Bhd and MMU CreativeVista Sdn Bhd.
Zam Ariffin
Zam Ariffin, 45, holds a Master Degree in Professional Accounting from St. Louis University, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Emporia State University, Kansas.
Zam Ariffin has held various senior management positions ranging from corporate finance, investor relations, contract management and financial management mainly in the telecommunication industry. He started his career in 1987 as a Bond Officer at Cagamas Berhad. In May 1989, he joined TM in the Corporate Finance Division and his last position was the Assistant General Manager of Financing and Special Projects in May 1996, before joining Telekom Cellular Sdn Bhd (TM TOUCH) as General Manager, Finance Division in June 1996. From January 2000 to August 2006, he served in Maxis Communications Berhad as Head and Senior Manager in the Business & Financial Planning Department, Networks Engineering & Operation Division and later in the Contract Management Department, Finance & Administration Division, before returning to TM to assume the position of General Manager, TM Ventures.
Prior to his current position as the Vice President, Support Business, he was the General Manager, Subsidiary Management of Group Business Development & Transformation. He also sits on the boards of a public listed company and several subsidiaries within the TM Group of companies.
Shaifubahrim Mohd Saleh
Shaifubahrim Mohd Saleh has more than 25 years of hands-on strategic and operational management experience working for 5 multinational companies in Malaysia and the region, as well as providing consulting to Government and Private Enterprises. He is certified in Change Management by Pritchett Rummler-Brache to consult in Corporate Growth, Culture Change and Performance Improvement. His industry experience covers Information Technology, Telecommunications, Insurance, Government, Defense and Public Utilities. He facilitates executive seminars on leadership and strategy locally and abroad.
He has been extensively involved in the ICT industry in Malaysia, Middle East and across the Asian region from managing ICT companies to advising national bodies in ICT policies and implementation. His vast IT, Telecommunication & Internet know-how and experience are derived from working in:
•IBM (1983-88) and Oracle Systems (1990-95) servicing the Government, Defense and Public Utilities sectors,
•Logica (1989) and Data General (1995) providing enterprise resource management solutions to many industries,
•Banyan Systems Asia (1996-99), Aironet Wireless Communications AP/J and Cisco Systems Malaysia (1999-2001) as Managing Directors.
He had been a Board member and an Audit Committee member of the Multimedia Super Corridor project (MSC) Malaysia from 1999 – 2004 during which he was also on the Boards of the Investment Committee, Remuneration and Nomination Committee and the Tender Board Committee. He is also familiar with MDC subsidiaries in particular G-Tek Electronics and MSCMS, having served as Chairman of the Board and Board Member respectively.
Shaifu has been an active player in various ICT related national and industry councils. He had been a member of the Bumiputra IT Council under the Entrepreneur Ministry, a member of the National Economic Consultative Council (MAPEN II, 1999) for the Science and Technology Group Malaysia, and a member of the 2nd National IT Council (NITC) chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia then.
A long time council member of PIKOM, he had served as Chairman of the Association for two terms (1997-1998). His current capacity in the Association is Advisor and he also chairs the Association’s Export Promotion Committee.
He is a member of the Penang State IT Council (since 1998), Chapter member of Talents-Ideas-Enterprise (TiE) Council (since 2002), and Board member of 2 public listed companies namely eBCapital Berhad and Redtone International Bhd.
Currently, Shaifu is the Executive Director and a Board Member of G-Tek Electronics. Aged 48, Shaifu holds a Bachelors of Science (Hons) Degree in Computer and Management from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. Married with 3 lovely kids, he resides in Petaling Jaya.
Dato Khairil Anuar Aziz
Dato’ Khairil Anuar Aziz, aged 43, is the Executive Chairman, GSSB Consulting Sdn Bhd which specialises in various Human Capital Development services such as Training Development and Consultancy, Change Management, Strategic Transformation, Capability and Capacity Building, Strategic Operations, Performance Management, Management Consulting and others.
He graduated from Coventry University, England in 1993, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons), majoring in Marketing Management. He worked as a Systems Analyst with the National Health Service (NHS) in Wakefield, England and started his career in Malaysia in 1994 as a “Renong Management Trainee” with the then Renong Group Berhad.
He assumed several positions in Renong group of companies. He left Renong to assume a Senior Management position in JARING Communications Sdn Bhd and later joined MLABS Systems Berhad (an associate company of University Sains Malaysia) as Chief Executive Officer. He served Scan Associates Berhad as Director of International Business and was later promoted as the Group Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for ICT Security Solutions and Consultancy for domestic and international markets.
He currently sits on the board of Sinergi Perdana Sdn Bhd (a GLC-Consortium of FELDA, RISDA and FELCRA) and appointed as the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) of University Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang.
He also serves on the Persatuan Komputer & Multimedia Malaysia (PIKOM) Government Relations Committee and Deputy Chairman of Gabungan Pemikir Professional FELDA (GAPROF) under the purview of FELDA SERANTA, the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), which voluntarily advises on strategic direction on the social and economic development of the FELDA community.
